1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how National Sign Company (“National Sign,” “NSCo,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit www.nsco1.com, request a quote, place an order, or otherwise interact with us. National Sign Company has been a family-operated traffic-sign manufacturer in Ottawa, Kansas since 1915, now also doing business as Barco Municipal Products.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to do business with you:
Information you give us directly
- Contact & quote forms: your name, organization, email address, phone number, ship-to state & ZIP, and any project details you choose to share.
- Customer accounts (when launched): billing and shipping addresses, purchase order numbers, and the products you order.
- Payment information (when launched): processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not see, store, or have access to your full card number.
- Email correspondence: the contents of emails you send to sales@nsco1.com and our responses.
Information collected automatically
- Server & browser data: IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. This is standard web-server & analytics data used for security and to understand how the site is used.
- Cookies & similar technologies: see §5 below.
3. How we use it
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your quote request, contact message, or phone inquiry.
- Prepare estimates, process orders, and ship the signs you order.
- Send you order confirmations, shipping notifications, and (with your consent) occasional product or service updates.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website.
- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
4. When we share information
We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run the business and who are contractually required to protect your information — for example, our hosting provider (Google Firebase), our email delivery provider (SendGrid), and (when launched) our payment processor (Stripe) and freight carriers.
- Government authorities or other parties if required to comply with applicable law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of National Sign Company, our customers, or the public.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, in which case the receiving entity will be bound by this Privacy Policy or one offering equivalent protections.
5. Cookies & analytics
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies for two purposes: (1) keeping the website functioning correctly (essential), and (2) understanding aggregate usage so we can improve it. Specifically:
- Firebase Hosting — serves the website and may set cookies for performance and security.
- Google Analytics — sets cookies to count visits and analyze usage patterns. We have IP anonymization enabled where supported.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not work as expected if you do. We honor “Global Privacy Control” (GPC) signals where required by law.
6. Security & data retention
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. Form submissions are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Google Cloud Firestore with access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep contact and quote-request data for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for our reasonable business records (typically up to 7 years for tax/audit purposes), unless a longer retention period is required by law. Customer order records are retained for the life of the customer relationship plus the period required by applicable recordkeeping laws.
7. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request that we correct inaccurate information.
- Request that we delete information we no longer need.
- Opt out of marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any message or by emailing sales@nsco1.com.
To exercise any of these rights, email sales@nsco1.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will respond within 30 days. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. Children’s privacy
Our website and services are intended for businesses and individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the website prior to taking effect.
